Pending What?

Well friends . . . my status has changed to "adoption pending" (whatever THAT means). Foster Momma said this was important to share with you. So this means i won't be napping with BestFriend forever and ever?

In regards to that, Foster Momma said the nice people that i'm probably going to live with mentioned that, they almost feel a little bad that BestFriend and I will be split up (way to earn bonus point with Momma Stefanie and Dan!). 

So on that note, we wanted to put everyone's mind at ease. BestFriend does love me, lots, but, there are also times when he wishes i would be a little less, well, me!

The good news is, these nice people i'm probably going to live with have said that Foster Momma AND BestFriend and ANY of my other extended family (that means you Dr. NeuteredMe!) is welcome to visit anytime - wow! That sounds like fun!

just wanted to say hi

Lately Foster Momma has been reading me stories, nice stories, about people that sound like fun, who live somewhere neat . . .somewhere i might get to visit soon . . . hmmm, this is all so interesting and confusing and exciting. I'll keep you posted!

Sometimes, BestFriend Quinn decides he need a break from me trying to put his face in my mouth. Sometimes, he likes to lie in my bed (fine, i prefer the people bed better anyways). So sometimes, i have to make my own fun!

Mani Pedi

So every now and again Foster Momma feels the need to hold my paws and use this tool that makes a noise, "clip, clip"

She says its called a "nail trim" and that i am very good about it (of course i am, its no big deal!)

So good in fact i prefer to sleep through it! (that and Foster Momma knows if she tried while i was being a MexicanJumping Eugebean that she wouldn't have much luck)

Okay, yup, lovely . . . can i go back to sleep now please? ZZzzzZZZZzzz

Dear potential adopters

Foster Momma and I have a bit of a "wish list" for my future home (explained on my petfinder profile), but I think I just added something else!

I'd like a dog bed, and elevated one, that has sun shining on it.

For now, this unused coffee table will have to do (so pedestrian, I even had to bring my own pillow).

Week of the Walrus!

If there's one thing this HouseHippos loves, it's visitors and new friends! (especially ones with silly animals names like i have!)

And last night my Auntie Lisa brought her dog "The Walrus" (who was the dog i met the day i got out of the smelly, noisey, scary place) to come bunk with us for a week while she's away.

He was a little sad when Auntie Lisa left, so i tried to help cheer him up . . . 

I showed him how to sit to get cookies . . .

Foster Momma let him sleep in her bed so he felt more at home (harrumph, i was back in my crate), and i think that helped him because this morning he was more than happy to share the bed and cuddle with me!

I'm getting real good at the cuddling. And his brindled bum was very warm on my tummy!

Don't worry Walrus, we'll have lots of fun this week! I promise!

Bed Buddies

"Hey BestFriend . . . "

"Yes Hippo?"

"I smell better today, can we cuddle?"

"Hippo i'm tired, mornings are for sleeping dude"

"(sigh) okay, i'll just lie here and keep you company, but if you decide you want to cuddle . . ."

"Hippo . . .shhhhhh, sleeping"

"okay, i'm not even touching you . . . "

"uh huh . . "

"still not touching you . . ."
"HIPPO!!!! Moooooom . . . make him stop"

"okay okay . . . (whispers) i'll just lie here and keep you company . . ."

"sure, whatever, still sleeping . . ."

"right, sleeping . . .i can do that . . . ."

"BestFriend Quinn . . . um, can we be friends forever please?"

"yes Hippo, but only if you are quiet and let an old dog sleep . . . zzZZZzzzz"
